The one thing we all value is a good pair of boots.  The critical factor for a good boot is comfort, light weight, good traction, camo colored, warmth and waterproof.

The Scentlok #W04987 Sportboot from Wolverine is insulated with 200 grams of Thinsulate and has a Metguard steeltoe to protect you from falling objects. With a molded polyurethane construction that permanently bonds the sole with the leather upper, it is not a worry that the sole will separate and peel back.

Wolverine 8 inch Sportboot-$134

The lightweight  8” Sportboot #WO4987 retails for $134. Made with a full grain pigskin leather upper and 1000 denier nylon, the boot is very comfortable.  Scentlok is included and is guaranteed to be waterproof. I wouldn’t even bother with a boot that wasn’t waterproof, so I tested this vital criteria.  The boot is warm enough with 200 grams of Thinsulate and a fiberglass shank to stabilize the foot.  Spiderweb TPU slip resistance lug outsoles with an EVA foam inside sole makes it lighter than most boots, and aids in long walks.  The Camo color is Realtree Hardwoods.

The 8 inch high wolverine boots have Scentlock, Realtree camo and a lightweight sole that is flexible, yet has a good lug tread in slippery conditions.

Notice the integrated spiderweb lug sole. The camo sole is better than black ones because when you are sitting on the ground turkey hunting with your soles exposed, you can blend in with the woods.  Having a camo sole is a great idea.

When I am hunting, I constantly walk through snow, ice slush, streams and generally wet and cold conditions. I tested the waterproof quality, by walking through a fast stream.  Here is the proof:

Stepping into a fast moving stream, no water enters the boot.  The slip resistant sole grips the rocks. The Wolverine sport boot was underwater nearly to the top for about 3 minutes and still my socks were dry.  I have walked through many duck hunting marshes with these boots and never once had wet socks.

Duck hunting requires walking through muddy water in marshes with difficult terrain. Not only was this boot waterproof, but its rugged covering protected my feet from impacts from sticks underwater.

When walking a long time through difficult terrain, it is very important to have a comfortable fitting boot.  The soft foam sole is replaceable and is very comfortable. This is the most comfortable boot that I have ever worn.

The Wolverine sportboot is flexible and a lightweight walking boot

I wouldn’t recommend wearing Thinsulate in 80 degree weather, since the boot did get hot during September Bear hunting.  However, its toasty warm in the cold rain of duck hunting.

Anyone hunting in all weather conditions needs the Wolverine Sportboot.
