Rhode Island Dog Tethering Bill Dies in Committee (click for details)

A Rhode Island bill that sought to place severe restrictions on how and for how long dog-owners could tie or pen their dogs has died in committee.   

City of Little Rock Considering Bowhunting to Reduce Growing Deer Herd (click for details)

A growing number of car accidents and property damage attributed to a burgeoning urban deer herd has sparked a partnership between the city of Little Rock, Arkansas and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC).  The two have launched a joint study that seeks to determine the feasibility of bowhunting within city limits as an option for decreasing the problematic deer herd. 

Pot Calling the Kettle Black:  PETA Boycotts China for Dog Killing (click for details)

In the latest example of its thirst to inject itself into the news, PETA has called for a boycott on Chinese products after the Chinese government’s brutal killing of 50,000 dogs to control a recent rabies outbreak. 

Florida Governor Signs Bill Creating Apprentice Hunter Program (click for details)

Gov. Jeb Bush has signed a bill that adds Florida to the list of states that have passed bills which allow for the creation of apprentice hunter programs. 

Animal Rights Group Claims Credit for Botched Arson Attempt  (click for details)

The Animal Liberation Front (ALF) web site is claiming responsibility for a failed arson attempt in Los Angeles.
