I am always looking for new and different ways to prepare the wild game that we harvest each year. At the recent Archery Trade Association Show in Atlanta, Georgia, I found a new product to help me do just that – “The Game Gourmet – Complete Game Cooking System” through Stoney-Wolf Productions.

The product comes with all the spices and a cooking bag; you only need to add a chopped onion and carrots. I tried the “Roasts & Steaks” but it also comes in “Upland Game,” “Ducks & Geese,” and “Soups & Stews.” Each package comes with a basic recipe and also three (3) creative recipes. I prepared a large venison roast and after adding the spices, water and vegetables, closed the bag and let it cook for three (3) hours. The meat came out perfect, it was moist and tender. We served it over rice and even had enough for leftovers the next day.
