Working in Bass Pro's archery shop, I have allot of women come in who want to take up archery, but have a limited budget to do so, or they are not sure if they will like it, and don't want to spend allot yet. The problem is that it is hard to find a bow with a weight and draw length that fit them in their price range. This year PSE and Browning have changed that for us. The PSE Nova S3 sells for $159.99 fully equipped. It comes in ranges as low as 24"-27" and weights from 40 to 65lbs. It won't out perform any of the higher dollar women's bows but it is a great starter bow. The Browning Micro Adrenaline sells for $229.99 fully equipped. It is a compact bow, and will range from 22"-27" and 35 to 45 lbs. This bow is getting great speeds for it's size and will not disappoint. It has a thin grip to to help reduce torque and fit smaller hands. Also, the last time Brenda Valentine came in, she was recommending and shooting this bow. There are many bows out there, and most will do just fine, but for the money the Nova S3 and Micro Adrenaline will definitely get the job done.
