| Turkey Hunting | Product Review | Home |
Tarantula's new vest came out last year. I got to use it this turkey season and it is the best turkey vest I have ever seen. I have used a few other brands and none compare to the convience of the "Beard Buster". The three things I think of when comparing the vest to the other brands is QUIET, FAST, CONVENIENT. This vest is the quietest vest I have ever used. This is because if the way the pockets are made to hold your calls, shells, and whatever else, snug and in place. Nothing rattles around, clangs together, or squeaks. This vest is fast because anything you need is at easy access, when you have to move quickly on a bird, any call you need is right at hand, no digging around in the pockets searching for your striker. It is convenient. I have seen no other vest with the pockets set up so thoughtfully for turkey hunting. Each call has it's own place, your mouth calls have there own specially made pocket just for them, at an easy to access place on the upper chest of the vest. Your locator calls are located on the opposite chest where they are separated and held snug. They can be reached and found easily. The slate call pouch is perfect to hold your slate in place and the strikers are placed in individual holders just behind the slate. The box call holder is the best one I have seen as far as protecting the box call and keeping it noise free, until you are ready to use it. With inside pockets for face masks and gloves and a comfortable formed seat, this is the best turkey vest I have ever seen. If you get a chance to look at one and compare it to the other brands you will agree, this vest is the best. I have used it in the woods and I am sold on it. These vests are not the most expensive vest in the world, they retail around $60 and you can find them at my store Frederick Creek Outfitters, Cabellas, and many other retailers. Also online at Sportsman's Outdoor Products.
