Next Week on Wingshooting Adventures: A Change of Hosts and Scenery!
Show features NRA’s Women on Target Program on Friday, April 25th at 2:30 p.m. EST
New Berlin, WI (April 20, 2008) Wingshooting Adventures, airing exclusively on The Sportsman Channel, is changing things up a bit for next week’s episode by featuring NRA’s “Women on Target®” program for a South Dakota pheasant hunt. Regular show host, Michael Cooley, graciously stepped aside for this one episode to make room for the ladies!

to film a three-day pheasant hunt at Granite Springs Lodge as a part of the NRA’s Women on Target (WOT) program. WOT is focused on getting more women involved in the outdoors by offering a variety of hunts from upland bird to big game.
“Organizations such as the NRA understand that if you can get women interested and involved in shooting and hunting activities, you have a better chance at getting the entire family involved. Programs like Women On Target are an essential component to help secure hunting for future generations,” said Outdoor Writer and Photographer and hunt participant, Lisa Metheny.
TSC Director of Communications, Michelle Scheuermann, who helped host the show, stated TSC wanted to bring to light on how to get women involved in outdoor hunting, and WOT was the perfect opportunity. “When you watch the show, you can immediately see the camaraderie and instruction taking place amongst us women. We had experiences ranging from very beginner to more intermediate and that was okay! Everyone had the chance to shoot and get their birds.”
Women on Target coordinators, Denise Conni and Rosemary Herr, also joined on the hunt since this was the first time WOT used Granite Springs Lodge. "The ladies you see on the show are exactly the kind of people this program was designed to reach. It was exciting to watch them gain confidence with every shot. Michelle became increasingly sure of herself, and by the end of day three, she had a smile a mile wide. I think she's hooked,” said Conni.
Show times are Wednesday, April 23rd at 8:30 a.m., Friday, April 25th at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 27th at 9:30 p.m. All times at EST.
TSC gives special thanks to John Robbins, Denise Conni and Rosemary Herr of the NRA for their efforts in coordinating this hunt, to Kevin & Brennan Yeo for wonderful hospitality at Granite Springs Lodge and Outdoor Writer/Photographer, Lisa Metheny, for her tireless dedication on spreading the word about getting women outdoors!
