Sagi Named Editor-in-Chief of Shooting Illustrated
FAIRFAX, Va. NRA Publications has announced the promotion of Guy Sagi to editor-in-chief of Shooting Illustrated, the National Rifle Association’s newsstand monthly. Sagi’s editing experience spans more than two decades, and the magazines he’s supervised encompass a wide variety of topics, from hunting to international conservation, gourmet cuisine and fitness.
“The professionalism Guy Sagi brings to the helm of Shooting Illustrated ensures it will remain a must-read for America’s most avid shooters,” said John Zent, Editorial Director for NRA Publications. “His professional standards are unyielding, yet Guy and his staff bring a fresh perspective to firearms journalism. It’s a perspective you can’t find elsewhere, and every gun enthusiast should pick up a copy. I guarantee they won’t be disappointed.”
“Shooting Illustrated is firmly established as the insiders’ industry source,” Sagi said, “and we plan to sharpen our award-winning writing and graphics even further. With the eager and energetic staff I’ve inherited, I’m confident in our ability to take the magazine to the next level. We’re going to maintain the attention to detail and spectacular photography our readers have come to expect, but we have some real surprises in store for the magazine and its sister website, gunsandhunting.com.”
The NRA publishes five other monthly magazines: American Rifleman, the 121-year-old flagship publication; American Hunter, the world’s largest all-hunting magazine; America’s 1st Freedom, a pure news magazine on Second Amendment issues; NRA InSights for its Junior members; and Shooting Sports USA, devoted to competitive shooting. NRA Publications also produces two weekly television shows, American Rifleman Television and American Hunter Television.
