NRA Foundation Reaches $100 million Milestone
FAIRFAX, Va. The National Rifle Association of America’s sister organization, The NRA Foundation recently awarded a grant of $5,460 to the Boy Scouts of America, Chief Seattle Council. The grant will be used to expand the group’s rifle range from 10 to 16 firing points.
This grant is of particular significance because it marks a major milestone for The NRA Foundation. Since the first grant was awarded in 1992, The NRA Foundation has touched hundreds of thousands of lives by funding over $100 million in grants, becoming America’s leading charitable organization in support of the shooting sports.
“These grants have provided educational opportunities and public service programs that teach the safe and responsible use of firearms to young people and adults alike,” commented Wayne Sheets, NRA Foundation Executive Director. “To support the organization and these programs is a great public service to America and its firearms owners.”
The NRA Foundation supports a wide range of activities through grants, including youth programs, range development/improvement, training, and education and safety. Each of these areas represents an important facet of firearms education, history, training, skill development and appreciation of our natural resources.
