Look what Clemson University calls an "invasive species"! As with many of the plants not native to this country, this tree adds stunning beauty to the landscape and the potential for good, relatively fast money for the farmer, rather than waiting a hundred years or so for the slow growing native longleaf pines. Not a single one has "escaped" into the surrounding forests and fields.
