Closure Procedures
Closure is the ending of the formal mentoring relationship which normally occurs 1 or 2 years after enrollment in the mentoring program. WomenHunters requires a 1 year minimum commitment, with automatic renewal to a 2nd year unless we are notified otherwise.
Closure can also occur for a number of reasons; one or both participants do not want to continue the mentoring program, there are changes in life circumstances, or an individual no longer meets eligibility requirements.
The relationship may end at the discretion of the mentor, protégé, parent/guardian or WomenHunters Mentoring Program Coordinator.
While no party is expected to continue their mentoring relationship beyond their commitment to WomenHunters, we certainly would encourage the mentor and protégé to continue their relationship at the mutual and informal agreement of the mentor, protégé and parent/guardian.
A closure evaluation will be distributed to both mentor and protégé at the completion of their formal mentoring program.
It is our wish that all mentoring program participants enjoy their time together and that their relationship ends on a good note.
