Last year at ATA show I was looking for a new bow.  With most of the companies represented there I was able to see all of their new bows.  After looking at many youth/women's bows I settled on a couple to try and shoot.  One that caught my eye immediately was the McPherson Diva VX.  It's "Cage Cat" camo pattern really made it stand out from the rest, but I wanted more than just a good looking bow.  After talking with the representatives from Pearson, I found that this particular bow was one of  the few designed with women (not youth) in mind, hence the name Diva.  So I took of their offer to test the bow out and was amazed at the shooting range.  I could not put it down.  It was love at first shot.  It was so incredibly smooth.  The Vib-X dampening system in the riser took all the shock off my hand.  Plus it was very quiet.   There was no doubt that this bow was the one for me, but what about other women.  I am big enough to shoot men-sized bows, so it was no surprise that the bow fit me. After further research I found that the Diva will fit about any woman, with draw lengths from 24"-31" and draw weights from 30 to 70 pounds. It is short, but not too short, at 35 3/8".  It is fast with an IBO rating of 298 fps.  I have gotten 265 out of mine at 54 pounds. The hand grip is thin for a women's hand, but not too thin, as I have found some bows that have such thin grips that they hurt your hand.  No, this bow is a very comfortable shooter.  With a camo pattern that conceals in the woods, but sets it apart at 3D shoots.  I loved this bow and after a year of shooting it and hunting with it, I swear by it. I would recommend any woman give it a try.  For the price, I would not call it a beginner's bow, although it is very forgiving and would do a new archer fine.  But for the bow hunter or 3D shooter that is looking for a step up into a serious bow, this is the bow for you.  Before you buy a new bow, make sure you give the McPherson Diva VX a try.
