Mathews Switchback XT/ accessories review

Not quite two years ago Mathews unveiled their new Switchback XT. Pro guides and everyday hunters, known to successfully harvest game were quick to grip and release a few rounds of target practice. The huge success that followed Switchback XT hunters that year waved through the outdoor crowd taking down everything from Michele Leqve’s Polar Bear harvest, to my husband’s first Wyoming mule deer. It was more than just a bit of hype. There was real enthusiasm from everyday hunters who owned this bow.Indeed the hunter has to bring practice and skill together before the hunt. The new XT puts the smooth, parallel limb technology into every shooters hands. No complaints. A whole lotta harvest on film AND at the local check in station. Truly I wanted my shot at this bow. I talked to Mike Ziebell at Mathews Inc., and asked to see for myself if this would be the bow that would not have to be replaced in the next season. Smooth. No kick. The draw rolls over without a brick wall that pulls back. It is an exceptionally quiet bow and the grip is not overly bulky. I have fallen in love with archery all over again. The bow: ( Info & stats courtesy of Mathews Inc., ) The Switchback XT--It's shorter, it's smoother, it's more forgiving and it's the quietest way to the top!
I don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that the mechanics of this bow work smoothly together. Seven bows from four manufacturers have taught me that no bow fits everyone the same AND every bow shoots differently in the same hand. It is nice to hold a bow that doesn’t cause blisters and bounce the grip against my hand. The innovation that Mathews has designed into this bow takes the torque and unnecessary movement out of my hand. Check back next year and see; I’ll still be shooting my Switchback XT Mathews Inc.
