|3rd Annual Ladies group... Shiloh Ranch|
Our third annual ladies hog hunt started off with a blast this evening with both Claudia and Alyssa shooting a couple of good hogs. Both of these ladies made good shots on their hogs which made for a very short night of bloodtrailing.
Well, I just got in from our second evening in camp where we just got done skinning and quartering another hog. Donna took another good boar. This one too had long tusks. We had an wonderful evening around the campfire enjoying some good Wisconsin wine and cheese that Alyssa brought down to share with all of us. I'm including a group photo from this hunt, along with a picture of Donna with her boar. Also, Alyssa took this photo of these piglets that came in under her stand. Lastly is a picture of a hog which I cut down to display the vitals to show proper shot placement. As you can see by the photo, a hog's heart and lungs lie much lower and further forward than those of other North American big game species. Three of the five ladies in camp have taken hogs so far, and hopefully with one more hunt to go tomorrow morning, we'll have another picture or two to send ya! *** Note: If you would like to see the photo of boar's organs or the larger photo click on the link. I wanted to have a warning since it is a graphic photo. click here for regular size photo of boar's organs and click here for large photo of boar's organs.
