Lovett Electronics: Beeper Collar

...I never wanted to hear a beeper in the woods. I just wanted to enjoy the quiet and the action of great bird dogs.
My thinking changed when we started grouse hunting in Michigan. When the dogs went just a short way off the road, they were enveloped by ferns, weeds and underbrush. Pretty much impossible to see! I was convinced we were missing birds because we simply could not see the dogs on point.
Enter Lovett Electronics and the Model 4401-AO(Add-on) Beeper Collar. This model can be added to the regular collar (a standard 1” collar) and was so light-weight the dogs did not realize we had added anything. The beeper has touch button controls and the on-off switch is not exposed. It is impact and water proof.
This model has four modes:
Mode 1 is normal. The beeper beeps after the dog is still for 8 seconds.
Mode 2 beeps 2 times every 8 seconds and will then beep 1 time per second after the dog is still 8 seconds.
Mode 3 beeps after the dog is still 4 seconds.
Mode 4 beeps 2 times every 4 seconds and after 4 seconds of no movement will beep 1 time every second.
The beeper range is up to a quarter mile, and it will operate over 100 hours on one 9-volt battery. We usually change the battery right before the season starts and it will usually last the entire season.
We definitely noticed a difference this year in the number of birds we actually saw – not just those we heard.
