We all grew up with the American Icon of Barbie. Barbie, this is not!  As a mother of two daughters I had bought my share of Barbie dolls over the years.   My oldest daughter Kelsea would play with them occasionally.  My youngest daughter Mikayla never played much with "dolls" so when I brought home Hunter Ann, I thought that this doll would not be of interest either.  I was wrong.  Mikayla found something in Hunter Ann that she did not see in other dolls for girls.  A doll that represents something that is of interest to her.   Women in the outdoors.

Hunter Ann is the creation of Creative Outdoor Products Inc.,  based in Crawfordsville, Indiana.   COP is no stranger to toys that sport an outdoor theme.   Their original creation was Hunter Dan.   Hunter Dan has been on the market for many years.   It can be found in over 700 sporting goods stores in the United States and Canada.  Thousands of young boys across America grew up with Hunter Dan, including my own son Travis.

Hunter Dan was created to give kids that enjoyed the outdoors, a toy that would represent real life hunters.  Hunter Dan came outfitted with all kinds of hunting gear.   Model size equipment that was real looking and mirrored the real life hunting props that boys and girls would see their dad and moms carrying into the woods.  After several years of Hunter Dan's success, COP felt that they needed to have a girl doll that would reflect the growing number of women in the outdoors,  so Hunter Ann was born.

Hunter Ann like her male companion Hunter Dan is fully outfitted with all the nifty accessories one might find on a real hunter.   Long auburn hair, feminine features and moveable parts make this doll a beautiful representation of a woman hunter.   With her full camouflage clothing, safety orange vest and cap, Ann comes complete with a pair of rubber boots, safety harness, binoculars, and rattling antlers.   Outfitted with a real working tree stand plus a gun with a scope and sling you have a complete and realistic toy to enjoy for hours.    Hunter Ann is a doll worth purchasing for your child.  Hunter Ann retails for $17.99. Creative Outdoors Products Inc.,  have other lines of model toys for the young or the young at heart to enjoy.   Visit their website at http://www.hunterdan.com/ for more information on Hunter Ann.  And while your there let them know that you appreciate their recognition of women in the outdoors.
