As I watched I could see that the whole time the elephant was moving, from when she backed out of the jess and was looking at me that my barrel followed her every move. All the way to the shot, I was on target, had my spot picked and stayed on it.
I cleared the spent round and closed the bolt only as she hit the ground. Was I too slow?
She was 13 yards away.
In one photo, though these are pretty low resolution, shows the angle and position of her head, both eyes, the zygomatic arches are visible framing the eyes. Your shot taken is based on the positioning of the eyes, ears and bone structure of the face. You can see her focus on me as well.
It sure is nice to watch this to be able to evaluate the hunt.
I personally can't wait to do it again. Read the complete story on this website!
My elephant hunt as well as several others is available on an instructional DVD put together by the Professional Hunter who led me on this hunt. If you would like to purchase this DVD please contact me.
