My Creative Archery

Archery has inspired my creative side and I am now designing custom quivers. Honestly, I can’t believe I am actually this creative but as a stay at home mom I needed to find something to do at home to make a little extra money. My creativity started with a kitchen-aid mixer cover among other items, I think the quivers are my favorite thing to design though. I have spent many late nights having brilliant ideas for the design and sometimes I have a hard time turning my brain off for the night.

My design includes a pocket for scorecards, pencils, and whatever else you might like to take along with you. Right or left handed archers can use this quiver, as the pocket can be moved to either side easily with a toggle clasp that is attached to either end of the pocket. The quiver bottom is re-enforced and I have added a stabilizer around the quiver tubes to keep them in place. I also make adjustable web belts with snap buckles and have included them with the quivers. No extra purchase’s necessary just put your arrows in and go. My standard quiver size is three tubes but I can customize the quiver to fit your needs.

Now that the general design is done, I am working on things like broadhead inserts and new fun materials. This way you could just remove the quiver tubes for target practice and put the broadhead insert in. I don’t know when this will actually be part of the design but before hunting season I hope.

Originally, I started designing for women but then realized that I was missing out on a large part of the archery population and added some more manly designs. There is nothing better than to go to the archery range and have someone ask where I found such an awesome quiver, and be able to reply, "I made it".

Selling them will prove interesting, maybe they won’t be a big hit, but even if that is the case, I had fun doing it. It is important to me to remember quality not quantity is my goal. I do not want to offer many low quality items, but several high quality ones. My website is www.mycustomquivers.com and I have recently added an archery forum as well. I don’t know whether it will get much use but it offers a great area for suggestions and general archery chitchat.

I definitely owe a lot to my husband Greg who has helped to inspire me and put up with my days of sitting in my sewing room, stewing about my design. My kids are also my inspiration, as they inspire me to be a stay at home mom.

I hope these quivers can add to the archery world, a unique way to show a bit of our personalities. I would love to hear suggestions and ideas from all of you, so feel free to visit my site and send me an email.
