I admit it…..I am a gadget person! I am always looking for the new and unusual, whether it’s something unique to make life easier in the Kitchen or the new and untried in the woods. However, I was skeptical when I first saw the BowBat by Gameplan Gear.
I get a lot of grief from everyone in hunting camp who happens to pick up my backpack. I try to keep everything there I might possibly need extra gloves, face mask, scents and wicks, a flashlight (an extra flashlight and extra batteries for both), a bottle of water, a pack of crackers, a handful of chocolate, maybe an apple, my tree umbrella, ThermaCell and refills, an extra release, hand warmers, a book, maybe a writing pad and pencil……you get the idea. How could I ever make it without all these things? I must admit I was pleasantly surprised the first time I carried the BowBat to the stand.
The BowBat is a functional all in one, pack and bow case and comes in Realtree AP. The foam wings wrap around your bow to provide protection for sights and arrow rest. There is a pass through for the stabilizer and cam covers for protection during transport and while raising or lowering your bow in the tree. There are gear specific pockets that will hold a rangefinder, gloves, and release. The adjustable shoulder strap allows you carry everything with your hands free or use the easy handle and carry briefcase style. It really makes transporting your bow on a four-wheeler much easier since the bow is not upright.
Once in your treestand, remove the bow from the pack and strap the BowBat around your tree. It then becomes a padded backrest that will eliminate noise. There are plenty of straps, hooks and rings to attach all your must-haves for easy access and to minimize your movement. There are jacket or quiver straps that eliminate the need to screw hooks into the tree.
The BowBat is a product that I won’t go to the woods without. For more information check it out at www.gameplangear.com.
