I have lived in Alabama my whole life. I’m 34, have a wonderful husband of 17 years named Steve and two wonderful boys age 14 and 11. Growing up in the country I never fully appreciated my surroundings and what it had to offer. I was young, and hated hunting, and fishing. That was to be left to the guys. Or that was what I was taught. I had a blessed brother, who passed in 1998, but loved the woods. Not me! Get up before daylight just to go sit in the woods all day until dark? Well no thank-you!! Little did I know how that would change. I got married when I was 17 to a wonderful man. And boy let me tell you. He was 100 percent hunter, fisher, you name it he hunted it. But it was not until I had my first son and he got older, that I ever thought about picking up a gun or bow. (We all remember our first bow shot!) my boys are our whole world. And that is really what got me to hunting. To spend that quality time together. To teach them, and see everything for the first time in a whole new way through their eyes. And then, wow, before I knew it I was addicted. It has become a love for our whole family. And I hope we have many years to come. I just got a new bow, a Hoyt Tryken. And I’m really looking forward to this bow season.
