Heather had the privilege of being born and raised on a dairy farm in southern Minnesota. Her father introduced her to hunting and fishing at a young age and she hasn’t stopped enjoying the great outdoors since. Waterfowl hunting has always been Heather’s calling at heart, though bowhunting has influenced a lot of her other hunting challenges and pursuits as well. She really enjoys traveling and hunting different species in unique and unfamiliar climates and terrain. She feels that there is so much knowledge and experience to gain in the field and water, that it keeps her coming back for more. One of her favorite places to hunt is the Black Hills for Merriam turkeys.

Heather is currently going to college in South Dakota for Audiology and Sign Language. She will be a hearing doctor when she finishes school and looks forward to helping people overcome life’s daily challenges. She spends her spare time training her labs, scouting, mentoring youth, cooking, taking photos in the outdoors, traveling, working part-time in geriatrics, and spending time with her wonderful friends and family. Heather also serves annually as the only female counselor at a youth waterfowl camp up in northern Minnesota called MWA’s Woodie Camp. She believes in passing on our traditions of hunting and keeping them alive for future generations.

In the early fall, you can find Heather working shows and giving seminars for Avery Outdoors and Greenhead Gear. She really loves being part of a company that understands how to make products for the avid waterfowl hunter for any situation. She loves talking hunting and sharing new tactics and ideas for chasing wild game. From bear season, archery whitetail season to late goose season, to the springtime snow goose migration to chasing turkeys in the woods, Heather loves it all. She is very grateful to be blessed with the opportunity and privelage to spend most of her time hunting all year.
