Spring 2006 - Beth has recently been named the new “Gun Dog” Editor for the Labrador Retriever Club, Inc.  The LRC is the AKC parent club of all Labrador Retriever clubs in the nation.

Spring 2006 - She also has a story featured in the new anthology “A Mile in Her Shoes –  Women Who Work in the Wild", published spring 2006.

June 2006 – Picked as 1 of 10 gun dog writers across the U.S., Beth was invited to  Missouri to tour the Purina plant. Also toured Garmin & Cabelas.

Judge for the OWAA (Outdoor Writers Association of America) Annual writing competition

Beth will also be appearing on the TV show, “Limbsaver’s Outdoor America” showcasing her Alaskan Black Bear hunt which was filmed last April

April/May/June 2006 – Lynn teaches “Super Dog Obedience” and “Gun Dog training” classes  Performs in Hunt tests & participates in Obedience shows Turkey Hunts filmed for “Bowhunting North America”

May 2006 - Dog Hunt Tests, South Carolina and Tennessee Traveled to “Innotek” Dog Training Equipment in Indiana for Pro Staff training

June 2006 - Camp Rockmont; teaches Archery classes for summer 2006

April 2006 - Participated in the “Brenda Valentine 2nd Invitational Turkey Hunt” at Waterside Lodge/Peabody Recreational Lands, Marissa, Illinois Shot a mature Gobbler on April 14, 2006 (9 ½” beard, 1 ¼” spurs, 21lbs.)

May 2006 - Hunted turkeys in Arkansas , Missouri and Wisconsin, successfully shooting a 2nd turkey on May 14, 2006 in Wisconsin. (9” beard, 18 lbs.)

June 1, 2006 – Filmed bowfishing with the TV show “Outdoor Wisconsin” (along with producer Judy Nugent and WomenHunter’s writer Cindy Braun) TV show will air in 6 months throughout Wisconsin.  Did an on-camera interview highlighting the WomenHunters Organization and urged viewers to visit WomenHunters.com.   Judy has promised to wear “WomenHunters” logo-wear on future shows!

June 14-18th, 2006 – Broadcast interview for the radio show “Outdoors Radio with Dan Small and Judy Nugent”, which aired in WI, IL and MI. Discussed the WomenHunters organization and again urged      listeners to visit WomenHunters.com. Available online also.                

Michele Leqve

April 2006 - Michele recently made hunting history by being the first woman to shoot a Polar Bear with a compound bowMichele traveled to Pond Inlet, Nunavut, Canada for her history-making hunt, filmed by her husband Jim for two TV shows, one being Greg Hopf’s “Deer Quest Outdoor Adventures”.  They both hold positions on the Pro Staff and are field producers for the TV show, which airs on the Sportsman’s Channel. Michele’s hunt was also filmed by the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) for use in a documentary.  She shot her Polar Bear on April 14, 2006 and it measured 24” Pope and Young (green scored).CONGRATS Michele!

April & May 2006 – Featured on 2 radio shows, and in the “Rochester Local Post and the  “Minnesota Outdoors” newspaper, about her Polar Bear hunt. 

May 2006 – Bowhunted in Saskatchewan, Canada, and shot another Pope & Young Bear! Skull scored 18 8/16th inches gross green score! (Black Bear)

Lisa Metheny

April 2006 - Lisa attended the “Brenda Valentine 2nd Invitational Turkey Hunt” at Waterside Lodge/Peabody Recreational Lands, Illinois .  She shot a nice Gobbler sporting a 10” beard and weighing 23 lbs.

May 2006 - Lisa turkey hunted in Arkansas, Missouri and Indiana, successfully shooting her 2nd turkey of the season while hunting in Arkansas .

April & May 2006 – Lisa taught two Hunter’s Education courses

Linda Thompson

April 2006 - Linda’s been busy making and sending out caps and license plate for new and “re-newed” WomenHunters Club members.  She’s also building a portable, lightweight booth for the WomenHunters Organization. The booth will be easier to transport to events and be easily shipped to WomenHunters members across the United States for use at local events and conventions.

June 2006 - Linda will be setting up the new WomenHunters booth at the “Lincoln Bowmen” bowshot in Michigan when they host the Reinhart 100 shoot, and again in August when they host a “WomenHunters Benefit Shoot.”
